Our Meeting:

I prefer to meet you, the kiddies, even the dog (or cat) before the actual photo session.  It gives you a chance to ask any questions and to describe what you are envisioning.  We can discuss a few ideas and narrow down a location for the shoot, whether it will be right there in your living room, a park or a favourite venue.

 

Your Photo Session:

Newborns:  Congratulations on your little one!!  Newborn sessions are customized to accommodate your baby’s needs and generally last up to 3 hours.  We want to make sure they are well fed and sleepy.  These tiny ones photograph best in how they came into this world – their birthday suit! Be careful not to fasten their diaper too tightly the morning of the shoot to avoid diaper marks on their skin.  Moms and Dads should stick to solid-coloured clothes.  To capture that brand new baby look, I like to photograph your little one before they are 10 days old.  Therefore, I recommend you book your session while you are still pregnant.

Maternity:  Pregnant mommies photograph best when they are around 34(ish) weeks along.  You’ll have a nice bump but won’t feel uncomfortable.  The session is generally around 1 hour.  Dress comfortably.  Your husband should dress in a similar style but not necessarily match you exactly (I’m not conducting a dance class!).  Please pay attention to the small details, make sure your nails are nice (and your hubby’s, too), be careful of sock lines and whatever you do, please don’t hike your undies up over your belly!!

Baby, children and families:  I like my portrait sessions to be kept casual and fun.  Clothing is best kept simple.  No flashy logos or bold patterns (unless that’s the look you’re going for!).  It’s not necessary to have everyone matching, just as long as the colours/styles are all coordinated.  Please allow 1 hour for these types of sessions; and a bit longer if it is an extended family session.

First birthday/Cake smash:  Time to get dressed up – it’s your birthday!  We start out the session in a nice little outfit and capture some traditional first year moments.  And then we strip them down and let baby take a go at their birthday cake.  Due to allergies, the cake is not provided – but I can recommend lots of GREAT bakers in the area.  A 16×16 ready to hang collage of the ooey-gooey goodness is available for purchase.

 

Portrait viewing:

About 2 weeks after the shoot you will be presented with your own secure online gallery to view your photos.  There will be a mix of colour and black and white to choose from.  You can take your time and make your selections in the privacy of your home, as well as share them with all of your friends and family.  You will have access to your gallery for two weeks to place your order. There is a $25 fee to reload any gallery after it has expired.
